He was also elected to membership into Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society. Dr. King was a resident and trained in eye surgery at The Ohio State University Department of Ophthalmology.

In 2003, after determining a need, he returned to West Virginia to start an independent ophthalmology practice in Putnam County. Along with establishing the first full service Ophthalmology practice located in the county, he became the first Ophthalmologist to offer cataract and other surgical treatments at Putnam General Hospital. Following the hospital’s acquisition as CAMC Teays Valley, Dr. King continued his surgical excellence. He has expanded his treatments to include Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) and refractive cataract surgery.

Dr. King also performs many in-office procedures. Those include functional and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, multiple therapeutic and corrective laser procedures, including LASIK, PRK, Retinal, and Glaucoma laser surgery.
